Step In with Susan (Nia classes)

Hello I'm Susan Rees and I have been teaching Nia Technique Fusion Fitness in Dunblane since 2016. Nia is my absolute passion as it blends simple dance and martial arts, with somatics & awareness techniques. Great for cardio, strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, confidence and vitality!
Nia is adaptable and welcoming for all bodies and ages. With Nia you'll find:
  • the moves are simple, yet absorbing
  •  the music is amazing; varied genres, including world music and more...
  • the awareness and technique gained over time may help ease aches and pains (for me this helped my hips and spine) and improve general fitness

In Nia we move the whole body - the whole person.

Our first goal is to move with pleasure, and everything else follows from that!

I want to reassure you that Nia and my classes in particular are a warm and inclusive space and that I guide every BODY to get the most out of the class.

For shift workers I have a special setup for you where you can still be part of the class; use an economy bundle and come to class when your shift allows. When working you'll receive a recorded class which dovetails into what the in-person class is doing when you can't come "in-person".

MORE ABOUT NIA

  • Do you love moving to music but don't want complex steps?
  • Would you like to begin to move your body in ways which ease out all those kinks and get your heart rate up but without you noticing?
  • Would you like to get fit in an inclusive and pleasurable environment for all bodies, shapes, sizes & ages, and have fun while doing it?
  •  Are you uncomfortable with the gym or with aggressive fitness classes?
....then Nia could be for you.

Wear loose clothes and bring water. Ideally we move barefoot, but clean soft trainers or gripper socks with toes are also options.
We have a relaxation at the end when you can choose a chair or a rug or mat, or just the lovely floor.

Nia is adaptable and welcoming for all bodies and ages and I'd love you to join us!
